Julian "Jay" Aubrey, 60, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at his residence.

He was a retired carpenter.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in City Cemetery in Dyersburg with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Aubrey of Dyersburg; two daughters, Angela Aubrey and Regina Aubrey, both of South Carolina; a son, Mark Aubrey of South Carolina; a sister, Betty Aubrey of South Carolina; and a brother, Tom Aubrey of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Estell Aubrey.


William Ralph Carpenter, 81, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg.

He was an employee of AT&T Western Electric for 30 years, a US Navy veteran of World War II and a member of RoEllen Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg with Bro. Parks Thurmon officiating.

The family will receive visitors at noon Wednesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern.

Survivors include a niece, Penne Carpenter of Schriever, La.; and a nephew, Gerlad B. Carpenter Jr. of Yipsilanti, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Chloe Lovenia Parham Carpenter; his parents, William Lemmie Carpenter and Octa B. Ketchum Carpenter; and a brother, Gerald Carpenter.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Coker, Kris Kent, Scotty Peevyhouse, Barry Rogers, Bobby Vaughn and Troy Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Cherry and Jim Teague.


Bernice "Nanny' Davidson, 83, of Newbern, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at her residence.

She was owner of Kountry Kreations and retired owner of Kid's Zone Day Care in Dyersburg, active member of Cornerstone Church of God where she taught Sunday school and was vice-president of the Ladies Ministry.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Church of God with the Rev. O.L. Hart, the Rev. Howard Fleming and the Rev. Lynn Drumwright officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, James Finis "Hoss" Davidson of Newbern; two daughters, Carolyn Beaumont of Pleasant View and Rhonda Davidson of Martin; three sons, Donny Davidson and wife, Paula, James Travis Davidson and wife, Patricia, and Tommy Davidson, all of Newbern; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Emerson Haynes and Nancy Hawkins Haynes; and a brother, Melvin Haynes.

Pallbearers will be James Davidson Jr., David Davidson Sr., Jeff Beaumont, Chuck Beaumont, Donny Davidson Jr., Dakota Davidson, Dillon Davidson and Nick Davidson.


Darryl Lamar Jones, 42, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2006 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

He was chef at Dyersburg Country Club at the Farms.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Russell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Katrina Russell Jones of Dyersburg; three daughters, Monica Jones, Natasha Jones and Tiffany Jones, all of Dyersburg; three sons, Austin Jones, Carl Jones and Sam Jones, all of Dyersburg; a stepson, Dontay Russell of Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers, Eric Jones and wife, Karman, of Birmingham, Ala., Marvin Jones and wife, Ercell, of Nashville and Samuel Jones of Dallas, Texas.
