Edytha Mae Burroughs, 71, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 in Dyersburg.

She was a homemaker.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Halls Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelia Seay of Point Claire, Quebec, Canada; a son, Terry Allen of Quebec, Canada; a sister, Bernice Bryce of Arkansas; four brothers, Wymond Burroughs, John Burroughs and Sol "Sam" Burroughs, all of Halls and Jerry Burroughs of Dyersburg; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth McElligott and Danny Allen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Heart Association.


Darryl Lamar Jones, 42, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2006 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

He was chef at Dyersburg Country Club at the Farms.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Russell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Katrina Russell Jones of Dyersburg; three daughters, Monica Jones, Natasha Jones and Tiffany Jones, all of Dyersburg; three sons, Austin Jones, Carl Jones and Sam Jones, all of Dyersburg; a stepson, Dontay Russell of Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers, Eric Jones and wife, Karman, of Birmingham, Ala., Marvin Jones and wife, Ercell, of Nashville and Samuel Jones of Dallas, Texas; his grandmother, Annie Mae Thomas of Birmingham, Ala.; three aunts, Bertha Woods of Chicago, Ill, Frances Brown of Detroit, Mich. and Hattie Massey of Selma, Ala.; a great uncle, Elbert Edwards of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Smith and husband, Eugene, of Dyersburg and Nancy Given of Nashville; two brothers-in-law, Leon Russell and wife, Sonya, and James Russell and wife, Cheryl, all of Nashville; and two nieces, Letika and Kateria.
