Orene T. Barron, 89, of Caulfield, Ark., formerly of Dyer, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008.
She was a homemaker, a former restaurant owner, a member of AM Vets Auxiliary and the Elks.
Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Mo. Burial will be in Fowler Chapel Cemetery in Caulfield, Mo.
Survivors include a sister, Becky Stidham of Oxford, Miss.; six grandchildren, Charles Watson Jr. of Caulfield, Mo., Rusty Watson and wife, Diane, and Kay Parrish and husband, Buddy, all of Leesburg, Ga., Eddie Barron and wife, Kathy, Ann Batesel and husband, Danny, and Deanna Edmonds, all of Caulfield, Mo.; a special nephew, Aaron Franks and wife, Barbara, of Caulfield, Mo.; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Barron; a daughter, Mary Katherine Watson; a son, Leon Barron; her parents, Abe Thrasher and Zora "Ashby" Thrasher; a granddaughter, Tonya Lee Barron; four sisters; and a brother.
James Neely Flatt, 77, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired educator and school administrator, serving as principal of Ridgely Elementary and supervisor of instruction for the Lake County School System, as well as teaching at Trimble and Newbern High School. He was also a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Newbern and served in the U.S. Army from July 1952-June 1954 as a radio operator.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Perry Grills officiating. Burial will be in McCorkle Cemetery in Newbern.
The family will receive visitors today from 2:30-5 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and at noon Monday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Flatt of Dyersburg; two daughters, Judy Neel O'Day of Columbus, Ind., and Atha Jane Pilcher of Somerville; a stepson, Brent Figgins of Newbern; a brother, Jerry Almon Flatt of Riceville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Vicky Sherron and husband, Eddie; a son, James Mack Flatt; and his parents, R.D. and Maude Thompson Flatt.
Pallbearers will be Brent Figgins, Brian O'Day, Gene Hall, Cecil Parker, Shane Simpson and James McCorkle.

Marilyn M. Isbell Hickerson, 53, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 at Wesley at Dyersburg Nursing Center.
She was a sitter for the elderly.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hamer Road Church of Jesus Christ, where she was a member, with Brother Jerry Stafford and Brother Mac Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. today at the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Hickerson of Sikeston, Mo.; a son, Chris Hickerson of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Lagreta Ann Roy of Dyersburg, Tina Canada of Lenox, and Tincey Mary Isbell of Memphis; a brother, Tommy Isbell of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. and Flora Mai Isbell; and two brothers, Dewey Isbell and Mark Allen Isbell.
Pallbearers will be Jamin Barker, Shane Blair, Clarence "Did" Hays, Brian Hinson, Chris Jeter, Josh Key, Eric Markham and James Yarbro.

Wardell "P Liquor" Purdue, 84, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at his residence.
He was retired from Forcum Lannom and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in operations on Okinawa, Ryukyu, Retto and Nasnsei Island.
The family will receive visitors today from 6-8 p.m. at Cosmopolitan Funeral Services. Burial will be Wednesday, Jan. 16 at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.
Ruby Harrison Johnson of Ripley, formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were held Saturday at Conner Assembly of God in Ripley. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Garner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Criswell of Ripley; a stepdaughter, Katie Johnson of Horn Lake, Miss.; four sisters, Pat Martin of Ripley, Gloria Pounders and Deloris Clanton, both of Dyersburg, and Donna Simpson of Oakland; two grandchildren; and a nephew she raised, Kylee Clanton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnson; a daughter, Shirley Garrett; and two brothers, Bob and Jerry Harrison.
