Clarence E. Brown, 71, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 at Jackson Regional Hospital.
He was a retired sergeant First Class for the U.S. Army after 20 years, a member of Fowlkes Baptist Church, former deputy with Dyer County Sheriff's Department, former owner and operator of City Liquors and former commander of Dyersburg VFW.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Buckley officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Brown; two sons, Scott Brown of Dyersburg and Steven Brown and wife, Jennifer, of Junction City, Ks.; a sister, Betty Brown Lowery of Munford; two brothers, James Brown of Fountain Valley, Calif. and Talmadge Brown and wife, Sheri, of Hornbeak; and two grandchildren, Cameron Tyler Brown and Amber Nicole Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubbard T. Brown and Ruth Gurley Brown.
Pallbearers will be Jim Crews, Tim Wilson, Gabe Davis, Ray Gilliland, David Smith and Johnny Dodson. Honorary pallbearer will be David Quick.
