Laverne Smith, 91, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 at NHC in Dickson.
She was retired manager of The Davis Shop in Dyersburg and also served as dorm mother at Swanee, Lambuth and All Saints Episcopal School.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Presson and the Rev. Judith Wolfgang officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Webb of Bon Aqua; a son, Larry Smith of Wilton, Wis.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Don Smith; two sisters, Fay Riggins and Annie Hanks; and three brothers, Herman Haire, Brodie Haire and Damon Haire.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.
Dr. Robert F. Todd, 79, of Memphis, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at his residence.
He was a retired professor of statistical analysis at the University of Memphis, developed promotional testing for the Memphis Police Department, a Baptist, a Shriner, enjoyed playing a variety of instruments and was an avid antique collector and dealer.
Services will be at noon today at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis. Burial will be at 2:30 today at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Walter Todd and Lizzie Belle Chambers Todd; and a brother, Roger Todd.
