Brenda Deal Bratton, 59, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at her residence.

She was an employee of Wal-Mart.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion.

The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Lesley Jones and husband Jeff of Newbern; three stepdaughters, Christina Monds of Glen Saint Mary, Fla., Kora Grey and Michelle Rader, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepson, Hans Haley Jr. of Gainsville, Ga.; two sisters, Glenda Hobbs of Munford and Patricia Sparks of Fowlkes; and a granddaughter, Ashlyn Georgia Jones of Newbern.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nulley and Georgia Mae Potts Deal.

Jere Markham Gifford Sr., 75, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at his residence.

He was retired as a branch manager of Equifax and a member of First Baptist Church, where he was in the Men's Chorale, Thursday morning prayer group and a deacon.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors today from 5:30-8 p.m. at the church. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Gifford of Dyersburg; a daughter, Susan Michel of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Mark Gifford of Tullahoma; a brother, Gary Gifford and wife Martha of Rossville, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Sara Gifford of Pensacola, Fla., and Katherine Crowell and husband, Matt, of Niceville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Bonnie Markham Gifford.

Pallbearers will be Milton Magee, Howard Guthrie, Bill Jones, Frank Horner, Dave Wilson and Bob Sugg. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church and the Men's Chorale of First Baptist Church.

James W. Gregory, 74, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired employee of Illinois Central Railroad, a member of West Side Baptist Church in Halls, a member of the Dyersburg Saddle Club and a member of the Newbern Saddle Club.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. John Compere officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Evie Davis Gregory; two daughters, Judy Ogden and husband Kirby of Newbern and Kim Newell and husband Brian of Unionville; two sons, Mike Gregory and wife Becky of Hornbeak and Mark Gregory and wife Sandy of Turtletown; a sister, Barbara Needham of Dyersburg; a brother, George Gregory of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Era Gregory; a sister, Frances Hand; and two brothers, Lynn Gregory and William Frances Gregory Jr.

Pallbearers will be Larry Reynolds, Alan Shirley, Shane Gregory, Randy Gregory, Dennis McCaslin and Ed Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Sonny Thurmond, Ricky Lovelace, Frankie Lovelace, Woody Davis and Kenny Davis.
