Jimmie 'Jim' L. Baker, 75, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at Dyersburg Manor.

He was retired as a meat cutter after more than 25 years, a former employee of Kroger after more than 19 years, a former employee of Wal-Mart meat department, a member of First Assembly of God and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Loren Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Baker and wife, Gail, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Michael D. Baker and wife, Lisa, of Dyersburg; a sister, Juanita Gibson and husband, Jerry, of Dyersburg; two brothers, Raymond Baker and wife, Lawana, and Joe Baker and wife, Birdie, all of Dyersburg; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Baker; and his parents, Leslie Perry Baker and Pearlie Baker.

Pallbearers will be Jason Baker, Jonathan Baker, Ryan Baker, Dustin Baker, Terry W. Baker, Dustin Jordan and Mark Joyner.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.

Billy Lawrence East Sr., 69, of Trimble, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at Methodist Hospital-North.

He was a driver for Northwest Transportation.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 1:30-5 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda East of Trimble; two daughters, Patricia Manns of Trimble and Brenda Cummings of Newbern; two sons, Billy East Jr. of Mason Hall and Wesley East of Trimble; four sisters, Joy Carney and husband, Gene, of Nebraska, Mary Owsley and husband, Roger, of Trimble, Carolyn Maupin and husband, Paul David, of Gleason, and Nora Chronister of Newbern; a brother, Tony East of Trimble; four grandchildren, Susan East, Dell Cummings, Brandon East and Zack Baker; and two great-grandchildren, Katelyn East and Bryan Anthony Cummings.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby East; his parents, L.V. and Mary Katherine Rainey East; a sister, Shirley Terry; and three grandchildren, Timothy Cummings, Patrick East and Sabrina Webb.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Ring, David Ring, Gene Autry, Larry Autry, Randy Caviness and Tommy Moore. Honorary pallbearer will be Buddy Blessing.

Madge Blurton Losee, 82, of Millington, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at Methodist Hospital of Germantown.

She was a retired teller for Union Planters Bank and worked in the Raleigh-Millington area for more than 40 years, and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Millington.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely with the Rev. Mackie Prince officiating.

The family will receive visitors today from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Erwin Losee of Millington; three nieces, Dianne Turnbo of Ridgely, Doris Peal and Betty McClain, both of Obion; and a sister-in-law, Legretta Blurton of Ridgely.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur D. Blurton Sr. and Thelma Gunter Blurton; her brother, Arthur D. Blurton Jr.; and a nephew, Harvey Blurton.
