Mickey Miller Gourley, 59, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired sales representative for Edenton Lamb.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Via Gourley of Dyersburg; a son, John David Gourley and wife, Stacey, of Dyersburg; his mother, Erma Johns Clark of Dyersburg; three sisters, Vickie Gourley Pruitt, Linda Gourley Tidwell and husband, Paul, and Melinda Clark Edwards, all of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Donald Dwayne Gourley and Billy Joe Clark, both of Chicago, Ill., and Jimmy Ray Clark of Dyersburg; and two grandchildren, Logan Seth Gourley and Haley Jade Gourley.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Jo Gourley; his father, Percy Miller Gourley; a brother, Larry Dale Gourley; a grandson, Hunter Lee Gourley; and an aunt, Blondell Bailey Kolwyck.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Duncan, Tyler Duncan, Andy Seat, Calvin Seat, David Seat and Bryan Via.


Edna Jackson, 81, of Tiptonville, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

She was a homemaker and a member of Phillipy Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Linda Hatley of Clarksville and Edna Ann Perkins of Tiptonville; two sons, Jerry Lee Jackson of Killeen, Texas, and Jackie Steve Jackson of Tiptonville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Adams.


William A. Palmer Jr., 79, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired teacher from the Dyer County Board of Education and a retired Southern Baptist minister.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Waymon Hogue and the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Palmer of Dyersburg; a son, William A. Palmer III of Collierville; and a brother, Don Palmer of New Johnsonville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Polly A. Palmer, and his parents, William A. Palmer Sr. and Willie Maude Palmer.

Pallbearers will be Ike Palmer, Billy Bivens, Bob Beal, Robert Jones, Joe King, Ron Tullis and Todd Palmer.
