Joe Patrick Bryan, 51, of Newbern, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008 at his residence.
He was retired as a lieutenant in the Dyersburg Fire Department after 30 years of service and a retired employee of the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center ambulance service as an EMT-IV following 15 years, and a member of Finley Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Halliburton and the Rev. Joe Wright officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery in Newbern.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Sue Bryan of Newbern; two daughters, Jessica Foster and husband, Jason, of Friendship, and Stephanie Jackson and husband, Tim, of Alamo; a sister, Nelda Rice and husband, Eddie, of Dyersburg; two brothers, Donald Bryan and wife, Angela, and Mickey Bryan and wife, Margaret, all of Dyersburg; and five grandchildren, Brian Jackson, Tristan Jackson and Elaina Jackson, all of Alamo, Destiny Foster and Joshua Lane Foster, both of Friendship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Dorothy Louise McDowell Bryan; and a sister, Rosemary Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bryan, John Bryan, Barry Simpson, Steven Simpson, Tim Ramsey, Rocky Foster, Bobby Alvoid and Mike Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dyersburg Fire Department personnel and Dyersburg Regional Medical Center ambulance service personnel.
