Herbert Lynn "Herb" Harness, 74, of Tupelo, Miss., formerly of Bogota, died Monday, March 3, 2008.

He was an employee and then owner of North Mississippi Finance Company and owned Betty's Flowers and Gifts, and was a Shriner.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Holland-Harris Funeral Directors with the Rev. Don Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Harness; a daughter, Beth Horton and husband, Dr. Thomas Homer Horton; a son, Herbert Lynn Harness of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Emily Ann Hutson; a brother, Phillip Harness; a sister-in law, Shirley Williams and husband, Talton; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Whitt and wife, Marie, and James Whitt and wife, Mary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Evelyn Bethel Harness; and a brother-in-law, Mike Harness.

Pallbearers will be Homer Horton, Levi Watkins, Richard Calloway, Bobby Taylor, Mike Tkacz, Hank Waycaster, Jerry Whitt and Bob Coley.

Helen Hinson, 65, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was a retired waitress and a member of Lemalsamac Church of Christ in Churchton.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Brother Dana Watford and Brother Wilford Mobley officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Kitty Tubbs and husband, Albert "Cotton", of Dyersburg and Cindy Sims and husband, Alan, of Newbern; a son, Joe Hinson of Dyersburg; a brother, Larry Butler of Dyersburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Butler; and a brother, Clifford Butler.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Tubbs, Robert Anderson, Robert Hodge, Mike Glozier, John Gregory and Cody Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hickman and Ricky Hinson.

Florian C. Wengel, 60, of Harrison, Ark., died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Harrison.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, Ark. with Bill Arnold officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Pruitt Wengel; a daughter, Mandy Rose and husband, Ryan, of Harrison; a son, Nick Wengel of Harrison; a sister, Pat Wengel of Portgage, Ind.; two brothers, Danny Wengel and Paul Wengel, both of Hobart, Ind.; two grandchildren, Bane Gibson and Robbyn Rose, both of Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. and Charlotte Rozeski Wengel; a sister, Audrey; and a brother, Edward Wengel.
