Clarence Albert Joyner, 93, of Friendship, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at his residence.

He was a self-employed farmer and a member and deacon of Friendship Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Friendship Church of Christ with F.T. Patton and David Powell officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 4-8 p.m. today at Friendship Funeral Home.

Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Canada and husband, Charlie, and Barbara Haley, all of Friendship, Dorothy Johnson and husband, Jimmy, of Jackson and Shirley Love of Halls; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lou Walker Joyner; his parents, Edward Joyner and Tinnie Roberson; a sister, Florence Davison; and five brothers, Earl Joyner, Curtis Joyner, O.V. Joyner, Thomas Joyner and Raymond Joyner.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Ray Joyner, David Morris, Butch Morris, Ricky Joyner, David Joyner, Monroe Davison, Franklin Cleek, Douglas Joyner and Jeff Joyner.


Doris Templeton, 87, of Clinton, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Western Baptist Hospital.

She was a homemaker and a volunteer at Mission House and a member of Clinton Assembly of God.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Aubert Rose, the Rev. Bob Risner and the Rev. Scott Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Templeton and Tommie Templeton, both of Clinton; and three grandchildren, Martie Templeton of Clinton, Tracey Henson of Hickory and Debbie Veatch of Dyersburg; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. "Pete" Templeton; and her parents, Robert J. and Cozy Groaning Trevathan.
