Dirt from the impact shows the extensive front-end damage to the truck.
Timothy Wayne Capps, 44, 86 Simpson Rd., and Tommy 'The Rip' Rogers, 47, 119 Suzy Ave. suffered extensive head injuries and broken bones in the accident.

According to the Dyer County Sheriff's Department report, the pair were driving northbound on Old Fowlkes Road near Mackey Road when the driver failed to negotiate a 90-degree turn. The vehicle slammed into the ditch bank.

Both men, who were not wearing safety belts were thrown into the front windshield. Two helicopters were alerted to the scene. The first one touched down at 12:56 a.m., the report said. The second landed at 1:18 a.m.

Capps and Rogers were taken The Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
