Joe Donald Johnson, 66, of Litchfield Park, Ariz., formerly of Bogota, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at his residence.
He was a retired Chicago Police officer after 38 years and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with John Huse Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Spitzock and husband, Brian, of Goodyear, Ariz.; a son, Thomas Johnson of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; and a grandson, Lucas Joseph Spitzock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo Johnson and Ruth Imogene Welch Johnson Kemp.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Martha Ann Warden, 69, of Newbern, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at her residence.
She was a retired utility employee with GTE Sylvania.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial was in Meacham Cemetery.
Survivors include five sons, Mike "Hillbilly" Warden of Unionville, Mark Anthony Warden of Dyersburg, Carl Warden and Arnold Ronald Warden, both of Newbern and Bryan William Warden of Smyrna; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar W. "Dub" Warden; her father, Roy Vernon Dowdy; her mother and stepfather, Mary Nell Dowdy Rawling and Rudy Rawling; a brother, Jim A. Dowdy; a daughter-in-law, Rita Mae Robles Warden; and a grandson, Jason Michael Warden.
Pallbearers will be Roger Hogue, Joey Freeman, Jerry Freeman, Jason Ray, Brad Lovelady and Matt Nichols.
