Martha Ann Warden, 69, of Newbern, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at her residence.
She was a retired utility employee with GTE Sylvania.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial was in Meacham Cemetery.
Survivors include five sons, Mike "Hillbilly" Warden of Unionville, Mark Anthony Warden of Dyersburg, Carl Warden and Arnold Randy Warden, both of Newbern and Bryan William Warden of Smyrna; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar W. "Dub" Warden; her father, Roy Vernon Dowdy; her mother and stepfather, Mary Nell Dowdy Rawling and Rudy Rawling; a brother, Jim A. Dowdy; a daughter-in-law, Rita Mae Robles Warden; and a grandson, Jason Michael Warden.
Pallbearers were Roger Hogue, Joey Freeman, Jerry Freeman, Jason Ray, Brad Lovelady and Matt Nichols.
Vernon Westmoreland Jr. of Jackson died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was a member and deacon of Englewood Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons in Jackson with Dr. Philip Jett officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bess Westmoreland of Jackson; two sisters Lou Stavanau of Humboldt and Dorothy Cook of Olive Branch, Miss.; six brothers Jack Westmoreland of Paris, Joe Westmoreland of Lake Village, Ind., Aaron Westmoreland of Olive Branch, Miss., Bill Westmoreland and Dale Westmoreland of Lake Station, Ind. and Alan Westmoreland of Cleveland, Ohio; a grandson, Todd Westmoreland of Westville, Ind.; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Westmoreland; two sisters, Joyce Trinosky and Judy Longmire; and two brothers, Frank Westmoreland and Jim Westmoreland.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Arnold, Dave Trinosky, Kevin Hicks, Richard Westmoreland, Todd Westmoreland and Albert Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Allyn Stavanau and Mark Westmoreland.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Englewood Baptist Church.
