Murder charges against a Dyersburg man were dropped Tuesday, March 25, in Dyer County Circuit Court.

District Attorney General Phil Bivens announced that he did not intent to prosecute Aubrey Tremayne Eison on two counts of first-degree murder.

Bivens explained that he's waiting for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to complete tests on evidence in the case. The test results were not going to be ready in time for the April 9 trial.

Instead of asking for a continuance in court, Bivens dropped the charges.

He explained that Eison had requested a speedy trial, and Bivens had already been granted a continuance in January. He said he thought he would have trouble getting a second continuance.

The investigation is still proceeding and the charges could be filed again, Bivens said.

Eison, 30, 1067 Wabash St., is accused of fatally shooting Jeffery Scott "Snap" McMullin, 32, and Cristin Lynn Robinson, 22, on Aug. 13, 2007.

Eison, who turned himself in to police as soon as he learned he was a suspect, has maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings, citing his friendship since childhood with McMullin and that days before the killings Eison had raised money for McMullin's bail after he was arrested on a drug charge.

Eison was returned to West?Tennessee Penitentiary after court, where he was serving time for a parole violation.

I am so sorry to this Family. Cristen was a great friend of mine. We hadn't seen each other in a few years but the minute i heard it broke my heart. She was truely a beautiful person. She never had anything bad to say to anyone. We met just before Freshman year and were friend from then one. Se is grately missed. I also want to tell her mom, sister, and family that I am truely sorry to hear about this.

Looks like no one who knows anything about this case has enough scruples to come forward and tell what they know. Doesn't say much for You. Why is it that more people want to comment about a Meth bust than about two people being senselessly killed?

What is wrong with this society? Doesn't someones life mean anything?

my bad I said something about in an earlier comment that he was locked up for a drug charge it's parole violation. Really that was my bad!

hey to the one who said my sister is trash no I'm sorry afraid not ur referring to the wrong one. She was always friendly to all I'm sure if u need something in Wal-Mart she would've helped u find it with a smile and made ur day but u would of never referred to her as trashy cause she wasn't she kept herself up nicely and carried herself like a woman should. No he's not out he's locked up b/c of his drug charge but that's not why he should be locked up he should be locked up for her murder.R.I.P.Cristin Lynn we love you and miss you

Yes, sounds like some people should be a little more respectful of others. I have known Cristin's parents, sister, grandparents, and other relatives for a long time. Though her life style wasn't "pleasing" to others, it was a life taken without remorse ( murdered ). The LAW should take the time to get it right and put this person away ( down under ).

Izzy and Shelton (wait I think I've have eaten your lunch a couple of times on here before)I'm not even going to start off by calling you an idiot AND a bigot. Hmmm I might need to rethink that...Just look how you start your post you condescending jerk!!! "Dear gbabygirl whatever that means". So you opinion/argument has no validity from the jump street. Everyone has a username would you care to share your real name here?

The point of the fact is two people were MURDERED and those people have families, friends, and people who care about them. Why bring that type of conversation into this topic. Yes the person that was charged is no longer be prosecuted. No he isnt free he will be in Prison for many years. Plenty of time to continue the investigation and have a sound case to present to a jury. Yea I'm disappointed but I rather them get it right then an innocent person go to jail or worse and MURDERER go free due to lack of evidence. Remember there isnt a statute of limitation on murder!!!

Dear gbabygirl whatever that means,

Whether or not you agree with Shelton he has a right to his opinion and if he's a citizen of this country he has a right to state that opinion. This little site is meant for just that. Posting OPINIONS....get over it.

My OPINION on this topic is that folks didn't bother to actually READ the article. The man is NOT FREE. If you read past the title you would know that.

Also, Dear Dyersburg Gazette, you are somewhat to blame. When you title an article in that way to draw attention, that's all the average person around here will read. Ignorance abounds. Can't say I'm a fan of our DA or anyone else in our local government but they screw up enough for real. Let's not accuse them of putting this murderer back on the street. Not saying they're not dumb enough to, just that they didn't.

Dear Shelton... when you post comment it states PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL... there is a mother who's lost a wonderful daughter there is a sister who has lost.. not to mention the great many loved ones who loved cristin dearly and will miss her daily, that are greatful to the gazette for this oppurtunity to comment, you should be banned from posting... your attitude is disGRACEful! I hope for peace one day for the mother of this child....

I guess it's better to be a perpatrator than a victim you have more rights . WAY TO GO JUDICIAL SYSTEM!

-- Posted by BIZCUITZNGRAVY on Thu, Mar 27, 2008, at 7:45 AM

Let's read the article before we fly off the handle once again. If you read the article carefully, you will see that the "suspect" was returned to prison. Please tell me how this person can be "free" and "out on the street" if he is in prison? I am very glad that TBI is not basing a case solely on a child's testamony. Haste makes waste seems like a fitting thought at this point.

This little boy told the court he saw the shooting;he will never get over this trama.

-- Posted by getter-done.Today_P.8 on Thu, Mar 27, 2008, at 6:39 AM

Bivens said "charges could be filed again" meaning, he is a free man. WAY TO GO D'BURG COURT SYSTEM!!!!!! I keep thinking about that poor sucker who stole a tractor and got two years in jail, but we are letting murderers out free. I lost count on how many drug dealers, users, and murderers have been turned loose back onto the streets. But I guess it is the public defenders job to let all these thugs out to prey on the honest working man.

YEAH.....BY TIME THE FEDS PICK IT UP, HE WILL ALREADY HAVE KILLED AGAIN....GLAD I'M NOT THERE.......

-- Posted by DMASE on Wed, Mar 26, 2008, at 10:44 PM

This community should be ashamed. I know some of the police working on this murder, and the other ones too. They are doing everything they can do.There are people who know what happened and actually saw things, but refuse to get involved, and tell what they know.

The people who saw and know what happened, are just as responsible for this problem as the ones, who killed these people. What would you want someone to do if your family member was the one who got killed?

-- Posted by Fedup1 on Wed, Mar 26, 2008, at 9:38 PM

For one thing its not the FBI, its the TBI. And you cant carry a case to court without all the evidence being ready for trial. and he wasnt just let go. once the evidence is ready, it will go to court.

-- Posted by swilliams on Wed, Mar 26, 2008, at 5:52 PM

we wouldn't want you to put yourself out any by going through all that 'trouble' of requesting another continuance while the tbi handles their business.

-- Posted by jeramy on Wed, Mar 26, 2008, at 2:47 PM

I don't think you people read this the same as I did. Bivens said the F.B.I. is continuing the investigation.Anyone who knows how the F.B.I. works will know that they will not drop this case. They are like a dog with a bone and will not stop until they can put this man away for a long time. i can promise you they are not through with Mr. Eisom

-- Posted by coltsfan on Wed, Mar 26, 2008, at 2:36 PM

He deserves a trial, I agree.

And society wonders 'why' ? wow, what a great city we live in, THANK-YOU DYERSBURG FOR MAKING US FEEL SO SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Posted by cacy101 on Wed, Mar 26, 2008, at 12:19 PM

well thats really the way to handle it.just let him go.the fact that the little boy of the murdered man identified him as the shooter apparantly means nothing.my god what is this world coming too.i thik it would be safer for us to be in prisons and the criminals out on the streets at least then we would be safe.there are 2 people dead here and now their killer will never get anything out of doing this and will go and kill someone else...
