Highway 105 south of Trimble began to flood on Sunday due to local rainfall.

The 1.5-inch rainfall since Friday swelled already bloated streams to overtop their banks Saturday and Sunday, prompting a flash flood warning for Dyer County.
Highway 105 south of Trimble, Tatumville Road south of Tatumville and Hogwallow Road northeast of Dyersburg were closed on Sunday, adding to the closed roads leading to the floodwaters in the western third of the county.
The Dyer County Sheriff's Department continued to issue citations for sightseers in the danger area, including a Friendship man on Sunday who had driven his Jeep onto the flooded Bungie Road with his wife and sons, ages 10 and 12. Several 'Road Closed' signs were also reported removed from their positions on roads entering the flooded area.
Flash floods could occur over the next few days as more precipitation is forecast to fall. The National Weather Service in Memphis said Sunday showers and thunderstorms could drop as much as two inches of rain on Dyer County overnight Monday.
Tuesday's weather is slated to continue the rainfall before moving out Tuesday afternoon.
More rain is forecast for Thursday and Friday, said the weather service.

Thank You for the rainbow picture.
Beautiful rainbow! I am glad that citations are being issued for driving around road closed signs. People need to realize this can be a deadly situation.
