17-year-old charged with rape

Wednesday, April 2, 2008
A 17-year-old was transferred to Dyer County Circuit Court on Tuesday to face rape and aggravated sexual battery charges as an adult.

Timothy Andrew Pettie, no address listed, Dyersburg, was transported from Youth Villages in Memphis after a 30-day evaluation ordered in February by Juvenile Court Judge Tony Childress. He was charged with rape of child (less than 13 years of age) and aggravated sexual battery.

Pettie was ordered transferred into adult court to face the charges. Childress also ordered him to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Pettie was lodged in the Dyer County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

We're talking rape and aggravated battery OF A CHILD UNDER 13, people. Not some 17 year having consensual sex with his girlfriend. If he's guilty, why would you feel sorry for him just because he's homeless? If you don't know it's wrong to hold someone down and do the things he did to that LITTLE GIRL, you'd learn real quick if someone did it to you.

He RAPED a CHILD! Other cases should not matter on how you feel about THIS case. A person that can RAPE a CHILD is worse than a murderer, and should be locked in a cell with about 3 men that shows him what it feels like to be violated!!!

OMG.. WHO CARES IF HE IS HOMELESS OR NOT. HE RAPED A LITTLE GIRL. ALL I CAN SAY "EYE FOR AN EYE"

All I can say is .. he wont be in jail long .. The courts like the plea things down to a lesser charge .. I can almost garantee that he will cop out to attempted aggrevated sexual assault .. I would even be willing to bet on it .. Plain and simple , anyone who commits a serious crime , such as rape or murder .. should go to prison for the max. amount of time .. End of discussion
