Burnard G. Agee, 86, of Parsons, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons.
He was retired as an accountant for Forcum Lannom Contractors and Acred Shoe Store, a member of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church, a graduate of Murray State University and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts in the Battle of Okinawa.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Will Roberts of Parsons; three grandchildren, Amanda Lindsey and husband, Andy, DeeAnna Heath and husband, Craig, and Patty Kay Roberts, all of Parsons; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kole Lindsey, and Austin and Carter Heath, all of Parsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Orr Agee; his son, Danny B. Roberts; and his parents, B.E. and Josie Gregory Agee.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
Jenny Fay O'Dell, 68, of Newbern, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was an employee of Canterbury Place, a former employee of Sylvania and Republic Builders, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church and attended Harvest Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Lownsdale officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Ripley at 11:30 a.m.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Murray of Trenton; a son, Terry O'Dell of Newbern; a sister, Margaret Gray of Ripley; a brother, Thomas Sanders of Ripley; five grandchildren, Shana Dodd, Christopher O'Dell, Stephanie O'Dell, Skye Milligan and Alexis O'Dell; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Gertrude Cowgill Sanders; and a brother, Thomas Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Adam Milligan, Tony Willis, John Brasfield, Darrell Murray, Danny Sanders and Daryl Chapman.
John Woods Jr., 80, of Dyersburg, died Monday, April 7, 2008.
He was retired as a machine operator for Dyersburg Fabrics.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Dyersburg United Methodist Church with Dr. Larry Blakeburn officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Gatlin and Johnni "Red" Woods, both of Dyersburg, and Judy Rogers of Newbern; a brother, Lonnie Wood of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, John Gatlin, Emily Gatlin, Bo Rogers, Katherine Rogers and Sanibel Wilson; and a great-grandchild, Stephen Gatlin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beau Woods; and his parents, John Moody and Hattie Mae Blackwell Woods.
Pallbearers will be John Gatlin, Bo Rogers, Pat Rogers and Daniel Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Tarkington, Arlie Stephens Jr., Alfred Attaway and Lyndell Hollingsworth.
