A six-hour Project Learning Tree workshop will be held, and resource materials will be given to each person to aid in teaching about conservation to a classroom, 4-H groups, scouts, or other youth groups.
Several other activities include trips to Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, the Ross and Happy Day tree farms, and tours of a modern sawmill, and a pulp and paper mill.
Participating teachers can get CEU as well as college credits for the workshop. A $500 tuition scholarship will be awarded in December to the attending teacher who has best used the workshop materials in the classroom.
The workshop will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and a $25 registration fee is required. Lodging and meals are provided to the participants.
