The event coincides with National Pet Week. The Dyersburg/Dyer County Humane Society, Animal Care Hospital, and Dyer County Animal Hospital are sponsoring the day and invite everyone to bring their dogs to the fourth annual festivities.
'Bark in the Park' is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at Okeena Park.
A 2 p.m. pet show will consist of six contests:
* 'Cutest Puppy' under one year - one trophy awarded,
* 'Sensational Senior' eight years or older - one trophy awarded
* 'Best Outfit/Costume' - one trophy for male dog and one trophy for female dog
* 'Shelter Dog of Year' dog must come from any shelter
* 'Most Original Dog Trick' - one trophy awarded,
* 'Dog-gone Cute Dog of Year' - first-, second-, and third-place trophies.
All dogs must be leashed.
There will also be a bake sale, lots of food, the Dyersburg Fire Department truck and 'Sparky,' retail booths, drawings, giveaways, games, fingerprinting by the Dyersburg Police Department, Dalmatian jumping house, pet photography, pony rides, and much more.
