Obituaries for May 6, 2008

Hazel E. Brown, 85, of Lowell, Ind., formerly of Dyersburg, died Sunday, May 4, 2008.

She was a self-employed home health aide, former employee of Paramore Hospital, Mills Nursing Home and Lowell Healthcare, worked in the Cleveland Ohio Airplane Factory during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lowell.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sheets Funeral Home in Lowell, Ind. with Pastor David Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Lake Prairie Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Clyde Kessel and wife, Eileen, of Bloomingdale, Ill. and Ronald Kessel and wife, Joan, of Lowell, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Shelia Kessel of Elmhurst, Ill.; a brother, Willard Rose and wife, Donna, of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Bruce Kessel and wife, Debbie, of Corpus Cristi, Texas, Cathy Kessel and Richard Kessel, both of Elmhurst, Ill., Carline Johnson and husband, Richard, of Carol Stream, Ill., Carl Kessel and wife, Alice, of Melrose Park, Ill., Ronald Kessel Jr. and wife, Julie, of Brownburg, Ind., Lena Mays of Lowell, Ind., Shawn Kessel and wife, Carol, of Fishers, Ind.; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
