Rain is forecast for the next several days, with thunderstorms predicted overnight Wednesday and into Thursday.
Rain began to fall over Dyersburg and Dyer County about 1 a.m. Wednesday, heralding showers expected to be intermittent through the week.
The National Weather Service reported showers and thunderstorms to forecast to begin after 1 a.m. Wednesday night with an 80 percent chance of rain.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Thursday, mainly before 1 p.m.
Total rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch are possible, the NWS said.
Friday is forecast as partly sunny with a high of 77 before the chance for thunderstorms begins to rise through Sunday.
