Robert Ashley "Bob" Rodgers, 74, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
He was a self-employed auto dealer and auctioneer, a member of First Baptist Church and Biblos Sunday School Class, former member of the Jaycees and Dyersburg Kiwanis Club and formerly active in March of Dimes.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hickman and the Rev. Larry Baskin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Bledsoe Rodgers of Dyersburg; three daughters, Cindy Rodgers Reding of Memphis, Marti Rodgers Griffin of Nashville and Kaye Rodgers Cathey of Dyersburg; a son, Robert Ashley Rodgers Jr. of Nashville; a sister, Mildred Steed of Memphis; and five grandchildren, Ashley Oldham, Adam Reding, Alexis Griffin, Jacob Griffin and Zachary Cathey; and a nephew, James E. Walker of West Memphis, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Franklin Rodgers and Mabel Miller Ashley Rodgers; and a sister, Ruth Bargery Walker.
Pallbearers will be John Gauldin, Dr. John Reaves, Milton Magee, Albert Fowlkes, Randy Ward, Jere Ozment, Ted Lowery and Gary Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Sims and Ralph Farmer.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to First Baptist Church, 220 Masonic Street, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
