Murder charge dropped

Tuesday, June 10, 2008
A first-degree murder charge filed against a Ridgely man was not prosecuted Monday, June 9, in Dyersburg city court.

Instead of pursuing the murder charge, the district attorney's office announced that Wilmon Sonnie Moses III would be charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.

Moses, 32, Highway 79 in Ridgely, is one of three males believed to have been involved in the May 4 shooting death of Karl Maurice Franklin, 42, of Gardendale, Ala. The shooting took place inside the Sunrise Inn.

On Monday, Moses waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the conspiracy charge. The charge was bound over to grand jury consideration and could result in an indictment.

Also implicated in the shooting are Darius Brown, 17, who is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on June 13, and Keaston Danterrian "Boss Man" Tipton, 17, who has not yet been apprehended. Tipton is currently on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's "Most Wanted" list.

Anyone with information on Tipton's location is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 285-TIPS.

Another murderer back out on the streets!! THANKS JUDGE!

So I guess this means you can kill in Dyersburg and not get prosecuted.

Why can't they just give all three the death penalty therefore the justice system will be able to get the right one. That's what happened back in the old days when one of the kids will do something and my dad would give every kid a good switchen. He's is 90 years old now and I ask him why he did this. His reply was so I could make sure that I got the right one and it would also make the other kids if they didn't do it not to make any mistakes. lol if every parent was like this now days wouldn't the world be a better place.

Jeez...when are they going to do something? This is getting ridiculous.

Shot four times, it sounds like the same one used the gun and they can,t figure out the one that done it , so be a bigger coward and let the other two go as well. It,s only a matter of time until they get out, we all know they will go free for a crimminal gets the breaks.

Read this quick because it will get deleted...mine always do because they speak the truth. I just spoke last week about this case and every word that I said...almost to the letter came true. I understand that maybe it wasn't first degree but correct me if I'm wrong...They rob a man and kill him by shooting him more than once! Shouldn't it be at least second degree murder. Aggravated robbery is done by harming or using a weapon to rob someone. I would have to say that being shot and ending up "dead" is more than aggravated!!!! Anyway, this goes to show the mind set of not only the lawyers but also the entire judicial system. As I stated last week....people that drive to work in their Infiniti, Jaguar, Navigator, and Mercedes might begin to look at things differently when someone in Peel Hill, The Farms, or Arcadia get their homes broken into and someone ends up mamed or dead. Our county continues to show it's lack of integrity and caring for it's own population on a daily basis. All the articles of "Change is coming" "Crime will no longer be tolerated" are a joke. I can't wait to see the day when we actually get some people with character and strong will in power. Your brains may be big and powerful but it's useless unless there is a "backbone" connected to it to keep it on your shoulders! Let's see how long it takes for this one to be erased!

Another slap on the wrist......IT DEFINATELY PAYS to do crime in D burg.

Is there ANYONE in town with a spine??? Apparently there are NO REAL MEN running the place. Who are you people afraid of? Or are you being bribed? blackmailed? Or just getting paid nicely to put these low lifes back out on the street?

Maybe it is time for the FBI to make another visit????
