Man sought for attempted murder placed on TBI's Top 10 wanted list

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added the suspect who shot a Newbern man in March to the state's 10 Most Wanted list.

Robert Earl Hall, 23, whose last known address is 1198 Louisville St. in Memphis, is sought by the Newbern Police Department for one count of attempted first degree murder, especially aggravated burglary and aggravated Assault

Aundra Vernal Gilton, 35, 635 Jones St., was shot once in the right leg by Hall, who opened the front door and fired the shot from a handgun shortly before midnight on March 28.

Two shots were fired into a bedroom, where another resident had taken cover before hiding in a bathroom.

Hall stole a purse and used one of the victim's credit cards the next morning.

Hall has a lengthy criminal history that includes evading arrest, theft, assault, and burglary. He is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5'9" tall and weighs approximately 160 lbs. He has tattoos on his left arm, right wrist and one on his neck that reads "Gangu." He also has scars on the right side of his head.

Hall should be approached with caution. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Robert Earl Hall is urged to contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
