The Dyer County Election Commission called Nov. 4 elections for the City of Newbern and the Town of Trimble at a meeting on Monday at the Election Commission office.

The Nov. 4 election will include the election of mayor and six aldermen to the City of Newbern's Board of Mayor and Aldermen and the election of mayor and five aldermen to the Town of Trimble's Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

After motions made by Election Commission secretary Joe Enochs, both elections were approved by members of the board. Board members present included Chairman Thomas Parnell, Vice-Chairman Vernita Turner, Enoch, board members Bobby Cook and Harold Sartin and Jane Heathcott, county election registrar.

Board members also heard a report on the election law seminar held in Nashville last week.
