Obituaries for June 20, 2008
Mary Golden Baird, of Duarte, Calif., died March 8 in Duarte.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern with the Rev. Dr. John S. Baird officiating. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Baird Wells of Brentwood, Calif. and Rebecca Baird Bergstresser of Dallas, Texas; a brother, John Stockton Baird; an aunt, Mary Anna Baird Anderson of Rockwood, Ill.; five nieces, Nancy Wells Parker, Emily Wells Head, Cynthia Baird Rommel, Bonnie Baird and Laura Bergstresser; four nephews, Richard Hamelmain Baird, John Mark Baird, Harold Stockton Wells and Daniel Baird Bergstresser; and 17 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Hamilton and Golden Stockton Baird.
Clytee Leach, 79, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was retired from Thomas Industries and a member of Finley Methodist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Benny Leach and wife, Peggy, of Dyersburg; a sister, Audrey Anderson of Dyersburg; four step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Leach; her parents, Harry Lonzo and Emmie Watson Hill; and a niece, Phyllis Castleman.
Pallbearers will be Dean Armour, Eddie Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Bill French, Mike Leach and Mike Moore.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to RoEllen Baptist Church, 5868 Hwy. 104, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
Ben Floyd "Pap" Williams, 81, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was retired as a utility worker for Colonial Rubber and attended Lenox Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Rudy Ring officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Joe Redden Williams of Ridgely; a daughter, Donna Joe Kay of Lenox; three sons, Michael F. Williams and Richard A. Williams, both of Dyersburg, and Anthony F. Williams of Summerville, S.C.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Lee and Nancy Jane Wallace Williams; and a brother, Robert P. Williams.
Pallbearers will be Keith Hays, Joseph Key, Joshua Key, Ben Morgan, Christopher Williams, Dustin Williams and Matt Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Edgin and Raymond Harden.
