Jimmie Lee Allen, 65, of Mason Hall, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Union City Manor Nursing Center.

She was a retired employee of Trimble Manufacturing.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern with the Rev. Richard Guills officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, James Thomas Allen of Mason Hall; a daughter, Lori Davis of Mason Hall; two sons, James Steve Davis of Union City and Johnny Davis of Yorkville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry Gibson and Eva Mae Dunivant Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Tony Allen, Joshua Allen, Shae Hollomon, Steve Williams, Chris Fowler and Daniel Mangles.


Clara Mae Ables Sawyer, 81, of Friendship, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at her residence.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. John Kilzer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherrie Daniel of Munford and Wanda Garrett of Friendship; a son, Tommy Sawyer of Friendship; two brothers, Larry Ables of Finley and Homer Ables of Lake Station, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Holland "Doc" Sawyer; her parents, Frank and Vinnie Davis Ables; three sisters, Ethelene Whitlow, Christine Harrison and Dorothy Harrison; seven brothers, William Ables, Roger Ables, Lenord Ables, Herbert Ables, Harvey Ables, Robert Ables and Frank Jr. Ables; and a grandson, Jody Balentine.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Daniel, Danny Daniel, Keith Daniel, Shane Ellington, Jason Balentine and Joey Balentine.


Inez Sawyer, 83, of Mason Hall, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Beverly Healthcare in Union City.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethpage Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethpage Baptist Church in Mason Hall with Dr. Charles Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Bethpage Cemetery. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Sawyer of Mason Hall; a daughter, Brenda S. Moore and husband, Bobby, of Brentwood; a sister, Lady Ruth Carnell of Columbia; two grandchildren, Tom Sawyer and wife, Trisia of Murfreesboro and Johnny Moore and wife, Jeneane of Mount Juliet; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Moore, J.D. Moore, Jenna Moore and Katie Moore.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Littleton, Todd Littleton, George Wade, Richard Park, Mac McMackin and Tommy Griggs.
