Obituaries for June 25, 2008

Gilbert Bass Weaver, 79, of Dyersburg, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Wesley Care Center in Dyersburg.

He was a retired employee of Ermco and a member of RoEllen Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Michael officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include a sister, Opal West of Newbern; and two brothers, Allen Weaver and Bill Weaver, both of RoEllen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavenia Frances Foster Weaver; his parents, William Bryant Weaver and Ethel Bass Weaver; four sisters, Inez Pritchett, Dorothy Brawley, Linnie Holland and Ann Cole; and two brothers, Jerry Weaver and Jewell Weaver.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Walker, Bryant Weaver, Robert Holland, Larry Pruitt, William Weaver and Lloyd Lacy.
