Calvin Lee Harris, 65, of Halls, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.

Services will be at noon Saturday at New Womack Temple C.M.E. Church with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dyersburg. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Monica Madison of Halls; two sons, Calvin S. Harris Jr. and Courtney Harris of Halls; three sisters, Iris Halliburton and Judith Lewis of Dyersburg, and Edith Mays of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, J.C. Harris of Chicago, Ill., and Richard Harris of Kansas City, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Campbell Harris; his mother, Icy Lee Harris; and his father, Elijah Harris.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Yanira Medina, 31, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at her residence.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Cosmopolitan Funeral Services with Bro. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Carlos Colindres, Robert Medina and Joshua Medina; her mother, Maria Elena Cruz of Dyersburg; her father, Miguel Cruz Casanova of Dyersburg; her stepfather, Israel Medina of Dyersburg; three sisters, Jessica Cruz, Maria Cruz and Petra Cruz, all of Dyersburg; and two brothers, Israel Medina and Miguel Cruz Jr. of Dyersburg.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Burtle.

Pallbearers will be Miguel Cruz, Israel Medina, Miguel Cruz Jr., Chris Riggins, Bobby Rigsby and David Rigsby.

James Daniel "Dan" Osborne, 61, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Trimble, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

He was a career newsman with numerous radio stations including WREC, WJWK, WSIX and CBS Worldwide News, and was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Evergreen Cemetery. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 1-2:45 p.m. today.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Harriette Huey Osborne; a daughter, Christy Lee Osborne of Murfreesboro; a son, William Terrance Osborne of Murfreesboro; a brother, Jerry D. Osborne of Dyersburg; and a sister, Paula Denise Wilson of Fowlkes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. and Thelma Harris Osborne.

Eddie Ray Stegall, 60, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Ridgely, died Friday, June 20, 2008.

He was a professional driver.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Mitchell and Marsha Stegall, both of Chicago; a sister, Marsha Jensen of Camdenton, Mo.; a brother, Timmy Stegall of Dyersburg; and seven grandchildren.

Phillip Herbert Vernon, 65, of Tiptonville, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at his residence.

He was a retired master sergeant of the U.S. Air Force, a member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville, Scottish Rite -- 32nd degree, Harmony Lodge 184 past master, and was retired as a vocational instructor at Northwest Correctional Complex.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Hickman City Cemetery in Hickman, Ky., with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 1-3:15 p.m. today at the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Vernon; a daughter, Christy Alexander and husband, Jeff, of Dyersburg; two sons, Joseph Vernon and wife, Sabrina, of Ridgely, and Jon Vernon and wife, Elizabeth, of Tiptonville; and four grandchildren, Chelsea Vernon, Melanie Vernon, Jessica Alexander and Pamela Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cora Vernon.

Pallbearers will be members of the U.S. Air Force. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Haggard, Jerry Simmons, Gene Lee, Nathan Strain, Jeff Alexander, Steve Jones, J.C. Williams and Tommy Bramlett.
