Margaret E. Lindsey, 95, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 at The Bridge at Ridgely.
She was a homemaker, a former member of the Home Demonstration Club, and a member of Burgies Chapel United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg with the Rev. Ronald Lovins officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home.
Survivors include a sister, Berenice Burton of Dyersburg; six grandchildren, Russell Lindsey and Brian Lindsey, both of Dyersburg, Scott Lindsey of Houston, Texas, Jason Lindsey of Dalton, Ga., Lesly House of Oakland, Tenn., and Hillary Lindsey of Hernando, Miss.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Lindsey; a son, Ray W. Lindsey; her parents, Lester and Lillie Mai Ramsey; and two sisters, Lanita Gregory and Emogene Burchfield.
Pallbearers will be John House, Jason Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, Perry Cox, Peter Camara and Danny Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be John Palmer and Tommy Reed.
William Dwight Reed, 56, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was an employee of Dyersburg Fabrics, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Dyersburg Men's Softball League, where he had been a player, coach, umpire and league president.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. David Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Donna S. Reed; a son, William Brian Reed of Dyersburg; three sisters, Kay Norville of Dyersburg, Marilyn Broglin of Halls and Cuba Patterson of Long Beach, Calif.; and two brothers, Sammy Reed of Finley and Ricky Reed of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Marvin Reed and Martha Sue Reed, and a brother, Joe Reed.
Pallbearers will be Danny Lowery, Mike Thedford, Jerry Fisher, Terry Permenter, Larry Joe Permenter and Sammy Hummer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class, W.J. Brown, Jamie Hudson and Shelton Jones.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
Katherine Washington, 50, of Halls, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale in Ripley.
She was a material handler.
Services were Saturday at Fountain of Life Church of God in Christ in Halls. Burial was in Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Brownsville. Thompson's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Washington of Halls; two daughters, Jessica Tyus of Halls and Stephanie Tyus of Paducah, Ky.; her father, Johnnie Tyus of Ripley; three sisters, Dorothy Parr of Halls, Sylvia Terrell of Memphis and Barbara Sloane of Brownsville; a stepsister, Vera Thompson Johnson of Savanna, Ga.; 10 brothers, John Tyus of Nashville, Anderson Tyus of Brownsville, Alfonzo Tyus, Donald Tyus and Eddie Tyus, all of Maury City, Eldred Tyus of Gates, Michael Tyus and James Tyus, both of Halls, Vincent Tyus of Ripley and Freddy Holloway of Brownsville; two stepbrothers, Austin Thompson of Ripley and Vernon Thompson of Nashville; her mother-in-law, Maggie Washington of Halls; and two grandchildren.
