Woodrow Wilson Kirkpatrick, 63, of Ripley, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was a self-employed truck driver and a Baptist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Halls Funeral Home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Gates.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Helen McAlister Kirkpatrick; a daughter, Dorothy Stanley of Gates; three sons, Woodrow Wilson Kirkpatrick Jr. of Henning, Thomas Belew of Halls and Billy Belew of Indiana; a sister, Betty Ann Hendrix of Henning; a brother, Lynn Kirkpatrick of Covington; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Annie Merle Kirkpatrick.


Jason Scott Smith, 35, of Antioch, formerly of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008 at his residence.

He was home store manager for Macy's in Cool Springs, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and formerly attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Services will be in 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his parents, John and Shirley Smith of Dyersburg; a sister, Lillian "Crickett" Jamison and husband, Chad, of Newbern; and a brother, Jeff Smith and wife, Donna, of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his fiancée, Laura "Crickett" Dunn.

Pallbearers will be Chad Jamison, Dale French, Michael England, Rob Owen, Benjamin French and Michael French. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Stewart and Laine Stewart.
