A Dyer County grand jury handed down 78 indictments on Monday, Aug. 11. Persons named in the indictments are to be arraigned on Monday, Aug. 18, in Dyer County Circuit Court.
Included in the list are 30 straight -- or secret -- indictments that will remain sealed until the persons named in them have been apprehended.
The three men -- Darius Antwon Brown, a teen-ager living on Rivers Street; Keaston Danterrian Tipton, 18, 919 Custer Ave.; and Wilmon "Sonny" Moses III, 32, Highway 79 in Ridgley -- were charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. The teens also were charged with first-degree murder.
The trio is accused of conspiring to rob an alleged drug dealer at gunpoint on May 4 at the Sunrise Inn. Instead of entering the drug dealer's room, however, they entered the room next door. The teens reportedly fatally shot the man inside: Karl Maurice Franklin, 42, of Gardendale, Ala.
Brown also was named in a second indictment for robbery.
Among the other indictments are the following:
* Deangelo Duran Liggons, 25, 303 N. Connell, and Justin Clay Mancell, 25, 271 Dr. Hall Road, were named in an indictment for aggravated assault, filing a false report and being an accessory after the fact. Liggons reportedly stole beer from All-in-One, a convenience store at 810 U.S. Highway 51 Bypass. As the men drove away in Mancell's vehicle, they struck Eric Larson, a Dyersburg police officer. Larson struck his head on a concrete barrier and was treated for a head laceration. When he was apprehended an hour later, Mancell told police his truck had been stolen.
* Tony Adams, 34, 412 Anchorage Ave., was indicted for aggravated assault. He was accused of stabbing his sister, Teresa Adams, nine times on her back, arm and head during an argument on April 15.
* Tyler Armstrong, 17, 339 Salenfriend, was indicted for evading arrest in a motor vehicle. He is accused of failing to stop his vehicle when a sheriff's deputy activated his emergency lights on April 4 and, when he did stop, he jumped out of the vehicle and fled.
* Brandon Pshone Bibbs, 23, 1525 Keats St., was indicted on two charges each of driving with a revoked license and third offense simple possession of marijuana. He was stopped June 16, when police reportedly found about 8 grams of marijuana, and on July 11, when another 5 grams of marijuana was found.
* Timothy Wayne Capps, 44, 816 Simpson Road, was indicted for violating the motor vehicle habitual offender law. He was charged March 16 after a wreck on Old Fowlkes Road.
* Christopher Q. Claybrook, 27, of Parks Thurman, was indicted for sixth offense driving while intoxicated.
* Willie Cliff Jr., 710 Price St., was indicted for second offense driving while intoxicated and violation of the implied consent law.
* Eric Dewayne Collins, 20, 1200 Highway 51, was indicted for possession of more than half an ounce of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute and third offense simple possession of marijuana. He was cited July 1 for simple possession of marijuana and police officers reportedly found 5 ounces of marijuana packaged in 1-ounce bags under the hood of his car.
* Roger Dean, 43, 102 Wagner St. in Trimble, was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault. He is accused of injuring Shawn Hood and Tim Sims during a fight July 25 at the Shady Rest bar.
* Phillip Lynn Dorse, 31, 1345 Lovejoy Road in Finley, was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault. He is accused of using an aluminum baseball bat on July 19 to attack Michael Hipps, who was hit in chest while trying to disarm Dorse; Gilberto Charcas, who was flown to The Med with a life-threatening head injury; and William Tolley, who had red marks and severe bruising on his arms and back.
* Latonia L. Eisom, 31, 205 6th St. in Halls, was indicted on charges of theft of property in excess of $10,000, forgery in excess of $1,000 and failure to appear. Eisom is accused of writing worthless checks to purchase two vehicles from No. 1 Used Cars, 1345 S. Main St., on May 1. She purchased a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix for $10,788 and a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis for $5,973. Eisom also is accused of assuming the persona of Venus Taylor and purchasing a 2001 Chevy Impala for $6,000 at AC Auto Sales, 834 S. Main St., on Aug. 10, 2006. She reportedly paid for the car with a stolen check. She also is accused of failing to appear in court on the identity theft and forgery charges on Oct. 2, 2006.
* Krystal Kaye Gallahaire, 26, 2360 Stokes Road, was indicted for aggravated burglary and theft of property in excess of $500. She is accused of breaking into Paul Stephens's home on May 12 and taking a Beretta .22-caliber semi-automatic pistol, an Iver Johnson eight-shot .22-caliber revolver, a black-powder revolver pistol, $200 in coins, a bottle of whiskey and two boxes of .22-caliber ammunition.
* Michelle T. Green, 40, 4660 Pontchatrain Drive in Slidell, La., was indicted for fraudulent use of a debit card in excess of $1,000. She is accused of using Amanda Etheridge's credit card to obtain $300.
* Greg Alan Gregory, 51, 7932 Trimble Road, was indicted for aggravated assault. He is accused of pointing a loaded .38-caliber pistol at the vehicle in front of him while driving on Highway 51 on March 6.
* Arnell H. Haymon, address unavailable, was indicted for driving while intoxicated and violation of the implied consent law.
* Clarence Monroe Hays, 58, 3988 Lenox Nauvoo Road, was indicted for violation of the motor vehicle habitual offender act.
* Larry Henning, 351 Joe G. Baker Circle, was indicted on a charge of possessing more than half a gram of cocaine with intent to sell or distribute.
* Michael Shane Hutcheson, 34, 111 S. College St. in Ridgley, was indicted for aggravated burglary and theft of property in excess of $1,000. He is accused of breaking into Tiffany Enochs' home in Finley on May 15 and taking a Dell laptop computer, a Sony Playstation II and controls, a Bell South modem, a Playstation Game Raw 2008 and a Playstation memory card.
* Shelby Blake Junior, 27, 24 Valley, was indicted for third offense driving on a revoked license and evading arrest in a motor vehicle.
* Milton L. Kirk Jr., 32, 800 Bruce St., was indicted on three counts of seventh offense driving while intoxicated.
* William Brandon Lawson, 25, whose address is listed as both 605 Pillow and 1830 Ayers, was indicted for aggravated burglary and theft of property in excess of $10,000. He is accused of breaking into a Milltown neighborhood home and taking a 1997 Ford truck, three shotguns, a Lexmark printer and other items between July 4 and July 12.
* Zacchaues Fluntae McLin, 18, 920 Vernon, was indicted for possessing more than half a gram of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver.
* Sylvia Marie Madrigal, also known as Sylvia Gonzeles, 58, 2820 David Road, was indicted for theft of property in excess of $1,000. She is accused of cashing $3,400 in counterfeit travelers checks at Allen's Grocery on Wheeler Street on Nov. 13.
* Robert John Mathis, 48, 2162 Meadowview Drive, was indicted for extortion and coercion of a witness. He was accused of making an alleged rape victim recant her statement against his son. He also expected to receive $2,000 from another relative in exchange for the alleged victim's revised statement.
* Carlos R. McCoy Jr., 42, 4068 L-N St. in Milan, was indicted for theft of property in excess of $1,000. He is accused of taking a 6-by-17-foot trailer loaded with a John Deere riding lawn mower on Dec. 17 from the home of Bobby Turnage Sr.
* Joshua Donte McElrath, 136 Harton Road, and Jessica Nicole Sawyers, address unavailable, were indicted on several drug charges. They include: possessing more than half a gram of cocaine with intent to sell; possessing more than half an ounce of marijuana with intent to sell; possessing a Schedule III controlled substance with intent to sell; and possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance with intent to sell.
* Jason McIntire, 19, 1514 Wheeler St., was indicted on four counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of theft of property less than $500 and one count of theft of property in excess of $500.
* Ladarious Melton, 35, 1865 Ayers St., was indicted for assault.
* Willie A. Mullins, 27, 265 Greenway, was indicted for aggravated burglary. He is accused of entering a Dyersburg home, proceeding to the bedroom of a 15-year-old girl and lying in her bed on May 21.
* Ronnie Ray Pannell, address unavailable, was indicted for violating the motor vehicle habitual offender act.
* Chase C. Pappas of Josh Drive was indicted for aggravated assault. He was accused of firing a gun during a disagreement with Davy Bell of Dyersburg on March 15.
* Robbie Gene Powers, 27, 1549 Glass Road in Hornbeak; Timothy Clay Smith, 21, 765 Canada Drive in Obion; and Loressa Fayne Neace, 31, 2740 Possumtrot Road in Troy, were all indicted for conspiracy to manufacture more than half a gram of methamphetamines. Dyersburg Police found a cooler containing materials for making methamphetamines in their car on May 29.
* Brian Lynn Prater, 23, 323 First Ave. in Evansville; James Ivan "Pee Wee" Riley, 32, 317 Polk Road; and Adam Neal Hogeland, 23, 4710 Highway 104 West, were all indicted for possessing less than half a gram of methamphetamine with intent to sell or distribute. All three were arrested March 10 at a house in the Fowlkes community where law enforcement officers found what they believed was a meth lab.
* Mary Lynn Push, 35, 1349 Espey Park Road in Halls, was indicted for theft of property in excess of $500. She was accused of taking Dena Rogowski's purse May 3 at the Huddle House. The purse cost $80 and contained Rogowski's identification and Social Security cards, a $300 Sony Cybershot camera and a $189.99 Sanyo cell phone.
* Theresa L. Reid, 27, 1010 Upper Finley Road, was indicted for forgery. She is accused of writing and cashing checks on Amanda Tice's account on June 10.
* Michael Troy Sipes, 19, 180 Circle Drive, was indicted for assault. He was accused of striking Shane Thomas on Sept. 16.
* Lana Carole Smith, 38, 1300 Ewell St., was indicted on three counts of forgery.
* Shane D. Smith, 43, 1451 Hazel Circle, was indicted for assault, third offense driving while intoxicated, seventh offense driving with a revoked license and evading arrest in a motor vehicle. He is accused of hitting his girlfriend while driving on North St. John Avenue on June 29. The girlfriend suffered several facial injuries, including a broken nose.
* Michael Lynn Thorpe, 41, Sunrise Inn Room 47, was indicted for promoting prostitution. He is accused of offering an undercover officer a female for sexual activity on May 8. Thorpe received $30 for providing the prostitute.
* Preston Todd Thrasher, 41, 476 Katie Cove, was indicted for driving with a revoked license.
* James Alton Walton, 30, 43 Walton Road, was indicted for aggravated burglary and theft of property in excess of $1,000. He was accused of breaking into another Walton Road home.
* Patricia B. Wright, 45, 261-A Gay St. in Ripley, was indicted for theft of property in excess of $1,000 and theft of property less than $500. She is accused of taking a $1,700 laptop computer she found in the Dyersburg Skin Clinic bathroom on March 5. She also is accused of helping a juvenile boy conceal compact disks in his jacket March 1 at Wal-Mart.
