Town of Halls is 'On the Go' this weekend

The Town of Halls will join with area churches and businesses this weekend to offer an event featuring great fun, great music and Good News.

The On the Go festival will begin with a Praise and Prayer Rally at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 12, led by Bellevue Baptist Church College Worship Leader Ryan Wingo. The rally will be held at the gazebo in downtown Halls.

The festival will begin at noon and last until 5 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 13, with booths, performances, prizes, concerts and activities geared toward the whole family and advertised as "a party that might just go on forever."

Scheduled activities include:

* GoKids celebration with fun, games, inflatables, puppets, clowns, children's performers, free prizes, face painting, food and more.

* Go-Extreme Skate and Bike Demonstrations for youth, with a climbing tower, great food, bungee jumps, wild surprises, inflatables, The Battle of the Bands, and performances by contemporary Christian recording artists Through a Glass, John Cook, Keith & Megan Cook and Michael English.

* Evangelist Keith Cook with share the Good News in the afternoon in his fun, exciting, clear, and inspiring way.

In addition, churches throughout the area will provide booths with free information and give-a-ways.

Residents and family members are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the afternoon.

It is strange to me that not one line has been written about the outstanding Labor Day Parade that was held in Halls on Labor Day. There were floats, antique car, Dance Groups, and a performance by the Halls High School, Golden Tiger Band. This is an annual event that has been taking place for over fifty years. And never one word is ever written about it in any news papers…… Why is that?
