Obituaries for Sept. 15, 2008

Spencer Lafferty, 55, of Ridgely, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at his residence.

He was a retired janitor for Holiday Inn of Dyersburg and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his companion, Marsha Ashley and her son, Chris, both of Ridgely; two sisters, Betty Edwards and Wanda Burkett, both of Ridgely; and a brother, Dwight Lafferty of Ridgely.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Alice Brooks Lafferty.
