Obituaries for Sept. 19, 2008

Betty Heggie, 61, of Ripley, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Ripley with the Rev. Charles Joplin officiating. Burial will be in Canfield Cemetery in Ripley.

The family will receive visitors from noon-6 p.m. today at Thompson's Mortuary.

Survivors include three sons, Gentry Rogers and Michael Rogers, both of Ripley, and Ronald Rogers of Clifton; three sisters, Mary Lattimore and Ernestine Rogers, both of Ripley, and Helen Claybrooks of Brownsville; two brothers, Ernest Rogers of Rockford, Ill., and Lonnie Rogers of Henning; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
