John Sharp Asbridge, 89, of Trimble, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt.

He was a self-employed plumber and electrician, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Trimble Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Oakley officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Crain and husband, Eddie, of Trimble; a son, Tim Asbridge of Trimble; two grandchildren, Stacey Crain of Brentwood and Tabitha Ross of Cedar Grove; and three great-grandchildren, Allison Ross and Selena Ross, both of Cedar Grove, and Kelsie Carroll of Caruthersville, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Thomas Asbridge; and his parents, Will and Etta Thedford Asbridge.

Pallbearers will be Mark Pledge, Rand Godwin, Jerry Ring, David Ring, Damon Asbridge, and Charles "Buddy" Asbridge.

Obie Harris, 90, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at his residence.

He was retired as a truck driver for Castellaw Oil Company and a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Newbern.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Sean Sullivan, Mason Harris and Norman Fultz officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendola Harris of Dyersburg; a son, Terry Harris and wife, Paula, of Dyersburg; two brothers, Gene Harris of Dyersburg and Leonard Harris of Millsfield; four grandchildren, Ricky Rogers and wife, Stephanie, of Dyersburg, Timmy Rogers and wife, Lisa, of Memphis, Rechelle Zamora and husband, Alejandro, of Memphis, and Joanna Donaldson and husband, Chris, of Newbern; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Harris Rogers; his parents, Gene and Dona Harris; two sisters, Flossie Jones and Gladys Davis; and four brothers, Otis Harris, Willie Harris, Jimmy Harris and Charlie Harris.

Pallbearers will be Chris Donaldson, Chris Brewer, Adam Rogers, Michael Lawson, Rusty Hilliard and Larry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Jackson and W.D. Hilliard.

Dana Celine Pierce, 47, of Tiptonville, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at The Bridge at Ridgley.

She was an insurance clerk for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, a member of Tiptonville First Baptist Church, active in Relay for Life, and was a member of the Fulton County High School Class of 1979.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery in Hickman, Ky.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the Tiptonville chapel.

Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Moore and Ann Lillian Pierce, both of Ridgely; her parents, Charles H. Nolan and wife, Patricia, of Troy, and Norma J. Henderson and husband, Paul, of Hickman, Ky.; a sister, Debbie Barnes of Water Valley, Ky.; two half sisters, Charity Van Horn of Statesboro, Ga., and Cheryl Nolan of Israel; two brothers, Mike Nolan of Hickman, Ky., and Matt Nolan of Rives; and a grandchild, Bracey Leigh Moore.

Pallbearers will be David Callens, Roger Barnes, Landry Nolan, Buddy Moore, Adam Barnes and Jason Ramey.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Relay for Life.

Charles Roark, 74, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was retired as a maintenance employee for the city of Lansing, Mich.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Rehoboth Cemetery near RoEllen with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating.

The family will receive visitors from noon-3 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Clara Burns of Dyersburg and Linda Wells of Michigan; a sister, Betty Roark Baucom of Dyersburg; a brother, Frank Roark of Dyersburg; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Roark; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Beeson; his parents, Charles and Frances Roark; a half sister, Evelyn Lindsey; and a brother, William Joseph Roark.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Baucom, Joel Baucom, John Baucom, Ronnie Collins, Jon King and Jonathan Coonts.
