The event -- 7-11 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Lannom Center -- includes a dance, a silent auction and a chance to win a 42-inch plasma television.
This is the third ball to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Organizer Dena Quertermous said the first two balls raised a total of $40,000.
The Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home for children receiving medical treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
Hollywood Nights begins with a happy hour at 7 p.m. with free beer, wine and soft drinks. A cash bar will open at 8 p.m. Appetizers will be available all night.
Dance music will be provided by Syndicate of Soul, a Nashville band that performs several types of music, such as rhythm and blues, funk, rock, soul and pop.
The silent auction will feature a variety of items, including tickets to sporting events (including St. Louis Cardinal and Memphis Grizzlies games) and gift certificates to restaurants, retail stores, fitness facilities and hair salons.
The television give-away is incorporated as part of the event, but persons do not have to attend the ball to win the drawing. Anyone may take a chance at winning just by buying a $10 ticket. The prize is a 42-inch Samsung LCD 1080p high-definition television set.
Tickets to the ball are $50 each or $350 for a table of eight. Cocktail attire is requested.
Tickets for the ball and for the television drawing may be purchased at the McDonald's Restaurant Office, 575 Mall Blvd., or at Integrated Systems, 116 S. Main Ave. Tickets also may be purchased from members of the organizing committee: Kori Burkhead, Julie Carraway, Rachel Cartwright, Lee Ann Hunsley, Tammy Jones, Pattye Morris, Dana O'Guin, Dena Quertermous, Nikki Rogers, Darren and Stephanie Sells, Amy Schneider, Sherri Teeter, Rhonda Tinkle, Tammy Tucker-Rice and Stacey Williams.

I do not understand why some people have to be so negative and sarcastic. I hope this event succeeds with many contributions.
What exactly would you like to see them with? It is the box for the television they are giving away, but maybe you couldn't figure that out. Hope you soften your heart, expatdyerburgian, and give to this wonderful cause. You never know you might win, the t.v. , if you were to buy a ticket.
There's nothing like a photograph of five people holding a cardboard box to spur on the giving!
Thank you for this fundraising effort. The Ronald McDonald Houses are such a blessing the the families that stay there and your efforts will help make thier stay a little bit easier at a very trying time in thier lives.
To those who have never been to a RMH, or don't know what they are all about, you should schedule a visit to the Memphis house, and I assure you that once you go, you will be "hooked" to help them in anyway you can.
Have a great night at the fundraiser.
