Christine Heathcott French, 87, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a retired cook at First Citizens National Bank and Finley Elementary School and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jim Chamblee officiating.
The family will receive visitors at 1-3 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Janie Heathcott of Dyersburg; three sons, Preston Heathcott and wife, Elaine, Jerry Heathcott and wife, Ronda, and Mike Heathcott and wife, Beverly, all of Dyersburg; a brother, George Freeman Strawn and wife, Mary, of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren, John Heathcott of Knoxville, Jim Heathcott of Union City, Torrie Dodds, Phillip Heathcott and Amy Martin, all of Dyersburg, Gina Heathcott of Jackson and Danny Hayes Jr. of Bogota; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Preston Heathcott and Albert French; her father, George Strawn; her mother and stepfather, Lexie Jane Strawn Winchester and Clarence Winchester; and a granddaughter, Nancy Heathcott Lopez.
Pallbearers will be Danny Hayes Jr., Jim Heathoctt, Phillip Heathoctt, Logan Throgmorton, Danny Hayes Sr. and Steve Throgmorton.
Virginia Strachn, 82, of Bogota, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 in Chicago, Ill.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. John Huse Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Strachn of Chicago, Ill.; a son, Charles Strachn and wife, Linda, of Mundelein, Ill.; two sisters, Marjorie Block of Canton, Ohio and Bobbye Kozoshok of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; a brother, Thomas Childress of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Michelle Strachn, Kristi Miller and husband, Scott, Michael Strachn and wife, Kim, and Keith Strachn; and four great-grandchildren, Joey, Katie, Tyler and Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira "Billy" Strachn; a son, Roger Strachn; her parents, Larrymoore Fox Childress and Mattie Lou Ladd Childress; and a brother, Joseph "Bill" Childress.
Pallbearers will be Wally Childress, Mike Pilkenton, Rick Gregory, Lloyd Garner, Roger Cook, Eldred Pilkenton and Cole Cook.
