James Roy Howe, 68, of Dyersburg, formerly of Steele, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a truck driver for Averitt Express, former owner of Stateline Shell in Steele, Mo., a member of Church of God of Prophecy on Upper Finley Road, and a member of the Rotary Club in Steele.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Robbins and Bro. Archie Larry officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Howe of Dyersburg; a daughter, Angelia Turner of Dyersburg; a son, Mark C. Hensley of Cornish, Maine; a sister, Brenda Tomlin of Festus, Mo.; a brother, Donald Ray Howe of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tyler Gammons, Ashton Boane and Chad Gammons; and two great-grandchildren, Chyann Cassavant and Reiana Boane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Hensley and James Elmer Howe; a sister, Donnie Jay Howe; a brother, Orvil Howe; and a grandchild, Cassandra Cassavant.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Boane, Chad Gammons, Tyler Gammons, Edward Morris, Jimmy Evans and Timmy Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Adams and Braden Adams.
