During the evening hours of Nov. 10, agents of the West Tennessee Drug Task Force met in Lake County to begin serving indictments, handed down from the Lake County grand jury on Monday.

Drug Task Force agents presented nearly 45 drug-related charges to the grand jury on Monday.

"This operation was a six-month, street-level operation conducted in the cities of Tiptonville and Ridgely," said Rob Harrison, special agent in charge of the 29th Judicial District for the West Tennessee Drug Task Force.

Agents worked throughout the evening conducting arrests in the cities of Tiptonville and Ridgely. Agents arrested 16 defendants, made a seizure of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and over $3,000 in cash.

"It is an ongoing operation, and several more arrests are expected to come," said Harrison.

Drug Task Force agents from West Tennessee were assisted by the officers of the Ridgely Police Department, Tiptonville Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Department who participated in the Drug Task Force.

Recalcitrant,

You must be Rob since you know so much about him and his duties. Anyway, if the citizens are complaining about the level of the people busted wouldn't the finger be pointed at Rob since he is the SPECIAL AGENT IN CHARGE FOR THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE? Just a thought there. Who cares about the Task Force, Police, or Sheriff. Just get out and make bust EVERYDAY any department that can. Don't wait to show up for the media circus! Do the work for the community not for numbers on a piece of paper.

again, in rob's defense, he's here more than you might think. his duties have changed a bit since shelby county left the task force, but he still shows up. everybody loves pointing fingers at somebody. rob's just a good scapegoat.

Keep up the good work, every time you get dope off the street, it is dope that doesn't make into some kid's hands. Little Danny, you sure have come a long way since being pushed on a swing in Kindergarten. You know what I'm talking about. Joe V. is going to make a good investigator out of you yet. I don't get to see or talk to you guys much anymore so just wanted to say GOOD JOB!!!

Amen to that. I quess that is why he only shows up in LC when it is time to take a pic for the media. But that is why the police handle these situations.

in rob's defense, he doesn't usually make the cases. the other agents do. no offence to the other agents, either. but what they are doing is tough work. the people want arrests, they get them. big names sometimes take time. i can remember a couple of times when rob was involved with taking down some of the big names and big problems.

everyone has to work together and if they can't then there are problems. the task force is a good resource for a department to have and be a part of. but its only a tool. not THE tool.

proponderance,

Don't blame Lake County law enforcement for what Rob Harrison has done. He has to have his numbers to keep his job. The big names you are seeking were probally taken down by the Sheriff's Dept. on their last drug round up or they may be working on them now. The Sheriff took down the big ones before and i'm sure they will again. Only the future will tell.

What has happened to law enforcement in Lake County. Good God!! Did anybody else see the names on the indictments. Where are the big names?? Maybe they don't know how to get the big guys. I agree with Lil' Arkansas, three of the four in the picture do have their own agenda.

Anyone that don't believe that the police have their on agenda ought to think again! They are people who, sometimes, come to think they are God, and they will do whatever they feel they have to do, to accompolish their goal! It is simply a true story that it IS legal to break the law, in order to enforce it! If you want to argue that point, think about this before you do; What about the police selling drugs, to catch the buyers? What about the police women posing as hookers, so they can arrest the "johns"? I'm not sayin' nothin', I'm just sayin.....

Dale jr

Unless you were there, you could not know about all the arrests made and their legality. If you were there that would mean you are involved in law enforcement in some way. Assuming you are and reading your statement, could only lead one to believe that you are ok with violating the constitutional rights of the people you were sworn to protect. Have you ever heard of innocent until PROVEN guilty, guess that part doesn't matter because they still went to jail that night (guilty or not). I hope ( no I pray) im wrong and your not law enforcement.

No illegal arrest were made. Must be somebodys family member that got arrested for slinging drugs. Regardless, Cant get the ride to jail, the cash or the drugs back so, whatever.. Should not be involved and there would not be any chance of getting caught..

What illegal arrest?

-- Posted by Here'sMy2cents on Mon, Nov 17, 2008, at 9:04 PM

Nothing mentioned about the illegal arrest the Task Force made????

SOMEONE NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THE TASK FORCE'S ILLEGAL ACTIVITY.

Wait, maybe someone is??????????????????
