Jose Luis Sanchez-Galindo, 50, a Mexican national who reportedly was living at 139 Obion St. in Trimble, had pleaded guilty Aug. 1 to two counts of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. He was sentenced Thursday, Nov. 6, to 78 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release or, unsupervised release if he leaves the United States and does not return. He also was charged a $100 special assessment.
Wesley Joe Morphis, 31, whose address was listed as 235 Grace Lane in Bogota at the time of his arrest, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. He was sentenced Oct. 28 to a total of 138 months in prison with the recommendation that he participate in an intensive drug treatment program. His prison sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release. His fine was waived, but he was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment.
Danny Espinoza, 25, of Dresden, pleaded guilty May 30 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. He was sentenced Oct. 28 to a total of 120 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. His fine was waived, but he was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.
Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies served search warrants Sept. 27, 2007, in Bogota, Union City and Dresden. An estimated $35,000 cash, 12 vehicles and several firearms were reportedly seized during the searches.
