Annie May Griffin Aguilar, 86, of Hoffman Estate, Ill., formerly of Ridgely, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008 at her residence.

She was a homemaker and a member of Ridgely First Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the Ridgely chapel of Curry Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Aguilar of Hoffman Estate, Ill.; and a sister, Vivian M. Boone of McKenzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and William F. Griffin; a sister, Neville Chandler; and a brother, Ralph Cornelius Griffin.


Maudie Christine Moore, 92, of Union City, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at Union City Manor.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Neal officiating. Burial will be in Church Grove Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Isom and Mary Ruth Phifer, both of Union City, Patsy Tubbs of Newbern and Edna Williams of Hornbeak; a stepdaughter, Nola Russow of Joplin, Mo.; a son, Bobby Moore of Newbern; a stepson, Oliver Moore of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Robert Moore; a son, Harvey Moore; two sisters, five brothers, a grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Caldwell, Bobby Moore, Lloyd Moore, Newell Wallace Jr., Kenneth Wright, Roger Lynn Phifer and Jeremiah Pickard.


Rovene Webb Roberson, 89, of Cordova, formerly of Wynnburg, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at Applingwood Health Care Center in Cordova.

She was a homemaker, a member of Burrus Chapel Church of Christ and a graduate of Hornbeak High School Class of 1937.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely with Brian White officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The widow of Carl Roberson, her survivors include two daughters, Carolyn White of Bartlett and Diane Woods of Cordova; a son Thomas E. Roberson of Nashville; two sisters, Kathaleen Hellen of Brentwood and Martha White of Union City; a brother, W.C. Webb of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren, Brian White, Rob White, Leslie Woods and Kevin Woods; and four great-grandchildren.


Ellen B. Taylor, 95, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was the operator of Ellen's Beauty Shop in Dyersburg and a member of First Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years.

The family will receive visitors from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Coddington of Millington; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Taylor; and a son, Cecil Lamarr Taylor.
