'Tabbi' is one of the most calm, laid-back cats at the shelter. She loves people and enjoys being a lap cat. 'Boo Boo' is one of the most beautiful cats at the shelter. She is a longhaired black and white kitty. 'Corky' is a Min Pin/Feist mix. He is one of the most loving and gentle small dogs at the shelter and would make a wonderful addition to any family. 'Corky' would make an excellent companion dog. He is heartworm positive and would need treatment. The Miniature Pinscher is not a miniature version of the Doberman Pinscher. In fact, the Min Pin is the older of the two breeds. It originated in Germany in the 1600s and was used to hunt small vermin. The breed probably resulted from crossing a small shorthaired terrier (German Pinscher) with a Dachshund and Italian Greyhound. Pinscher simply means terrier. It was recognized by the AKC in 1929 and dubbed the king of toys. Other names for the Min Pin are Reh Pinscher and Zwergpinscher. (Source: Coile's Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds) 'Misty' is a magnificent Great Pyrenees and has a heart of gold. She loves to be petted and longs for a forever home.
