Doris Coleman, 67, of Tiptonville, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at her residence.
She was retired from Northwest Correctional Facility in Tiptonville and a member of St. John No. 3 Baptist Church, Lake County NAACP, and Relay For Life.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. John No. 2 Baptist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Eddie L. Burnett officiating, assisted by the Rev. Perry L. Woods. Burial will be held in Citizens Cemetery in Tiptonville. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m. at the church Thursday until service time.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacquelyn Moten of Killen, Texas, and Elfrieda Wash of Oakland, Calif.; two sons, Anthony Edwards of Bartlett and Dereck Mosby of Chicago, Ill.; five sisters, Willie Mae Colebrook, Ernestine Brown, Patricia Taylor of Chicago, Ill., Velma Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, and Louise Vaughn of Oakland, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Coleman; her mother, Velma Pruitt Mixon; her father, James L. Mixon Sr.; a sister, Gloria Cass; and a brother, James L. Mixon Jr.
Pallbearers will be Dereck Mosby, Anthony Edwards, Joe Moten, Scotty Gross, Greg Ross and Donnie Mays.
