Helen Ayers Braithwaite, 84, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at her residence.

She was retired as a knitter for Dyersburg Fabrics.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Pendergrass officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Ayers Fowler of Dyersburg; three sons, Wayne E. Ayers Sr. of Atoka and James Stan Ayers and Paul Braithwaite, both of Dyersburg; a sister, Willie Sue Newsom of Dyersburg; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Ayers and Harry Braithwaite; her parents, Jim and Pearl Davis; two sisters, Irene Brown and Floretta Chandler; and a brother, Elwood Davis.

Pallbearers will be Larry Putman, James Paul Ayers, Wayne E. Ayers Jr., Joey Elliot, Clay Spoonable and Bob Newhouse.


Peggy Ellis Castleman, 76, of Dresden, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at Martin Health Care.

She was retired as a cook for Weakley County Nursing Home after 23 years of service and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Dresden.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Terrill officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Winders and husband, Jeff, of Martin; a son, John Robert Castleman and wife, Tammy, of Union City; five grandchildren, Allicia Ashmore of Memphis, Kimberly Wilkinson of Harrisburg, Penn., Kellie Brown and Jason Williams, both of Dyersburg, and Stephen Williams of McKenzie; and three great-grandchildren, Sofia Wilkinson, Jagger Williams and Jonathan Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Castleman; and her parents, John Robert and Eva Goforth Ellis.


Minnie Deloris Coleman, 74, of Ridgely, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a former cook for Tiptonville Manor.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Terry Barlow officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Tiptonville. Thompson's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at noon Monday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Coleman of Ridgely; six daughters, Shirley E. Smith and Fannie Mae Benson, both of Dyersburg; Linda Knight of Union City; Jean Donlow of Hickman, Ky., and Gwendolyn Hopkins and Melody Wiggors, both of Martin; a son, Ronald Lee Hopkins of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; a goddaughter, Mary Catherine Spencer of Ridgely; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.


Joann Eison, 74, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 in Dyersburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Palestine Methodist Church with the Rev. John Lowrance officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery. Halls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Survivors include her husband, Jackie Eison of Dyersburg; two daughters, Patty Rose and husband, David, and Cathy Jones, all of Dyersburg; a stepdaughter, Aymee Berry of Gilbert, Ariz.; three stepsons, Barry Eison, Malcolm Eison and Tracy Eison, all of Dyersburg; two brothers, Gene Ezekiel of Ripley and Larry Ezekiel of Gates; two grandchildren, Donya Welch and Christopher Sawyers, both of Dyersburg; two great-grandchildren, Addison Jones and Jon Ashton Welch, both of Dyersburg; six step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews.


Audie Belle Gauldin, 94, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at Oakwood Community Living Center.

She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Springhill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 60 years and sang in the choir.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. James Branscum and Tom Butler officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Maupin and husband, Jere, of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Andy Maupin of Jonesboro, Ark., and Jason Maupin of Murfreesboro; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Maupin of Jonesboro, Ark., and Madison Maupin of Murfreesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Gauldin; her parents, Henry and Mattie Gibson; two sisters, Oleda Butler and Bonnie McGuire; and a brother, Henry Connie Gibson.

Pallbearers will be John Henson, David McGuire, Sam McGuire, Bobby Sikes, Doug Shepherd and Danny Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Thurmond, Jimmy McGuire, William McGuire and Ronald McGuire.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Springhill Baptist Church, 6671 Hwy. 78 N., Dyersburg, TN 38024.


Johnny Max Mount, 72, of Maury City, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at West Tennessee Transitional Care.

He was retired from United Insurance Co. of America after more than 33 years of service.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Maury City Baptist Church with Bro. David Green officiating. Burial will be in Maury City Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at Maury City Funeral Home.

Survivors include his former wife, Irish Chambers DuRapau of Diamondhead, Miss.; three children, J. Deon Ferrell-Downey of Jacksonville, Fla., Judy L. Yates of Clarksville and Johnny M. Mount Jr. of Diamondhead, Miss.; a sister, Ann Stanley of Maury City; a brother, Lynn of Maury City; an aunt, Hilda J. Mount; five grandchildren, Kristen and Daniel Yates, Julia and Jeffrey Ferrell, and Haley Mount; and a great-grandson, Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Terry Harris, Jody Miller, Nixon Brasfield, Jim Shea, Lanny Beaird and Tommy Dobbins.


Miriam Eugenia White

Miriam Eugenia White, 67, of Newbern, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Yorkville Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Roy L. White of Newbern; two daughters, Stephanie Lemons Burns and Valarie Michelle Lemons, both of Dyersburg; a son, Thomas Wesley Lemons of Dyersburg; her mother, Edith Morris Tankersley Barton of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Debra Ford and Ruby VanEnkenvoort, both of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, David Morris of Augusta, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Tyler Burns, Matthew Burns and Evan Lemons.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dean Lemons; and her father, Cleuse Eugene Morris.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Lemons, Tim Burns, Tyler Burns, Tom Burns, Ernie Riley and Jay Williams.
