Joe Don Ashley, 33, of Rutherford, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. James Branscum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Ashley of Rutherford; two daughters, Jennifer Ashley of Rutherford and Maria Ashley of Friendship; a son, Chase Ashley of Rutherford; his mother, Caffie Flatt and husband, Richard, of Newbern; a sister, Amy Volner of Newbern; a stepsister, Ashley Duncan of Trenton; and grandparents Robert and Connie White of Newbern.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Ashley; and grandparents Webb and Lyda Mae Ashley.

Pallbearers will be David Hall, Scott Davis, David Norville, Rodney Travis, Pete Wilkerson and Eric Williams. Honorary pallbearer will be Daniel White.

Buddy Wade Moore Sr., 72, of Tiptonville, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

He was property assessor of Lake County and the longest-serving property assessor in Tennessee at 37 years, he was a member of Crockett's Chapel United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, former police commissioner, coached youth league baseball, girls and women's softball for many years, was a lifelong farmer and a road commissioner.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Larry Byassee and the Rev. Curtis McClandon officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Regina S. Moore; three daughters, Michelle Morgan and husband, Bob, Shannon Moore McCoy and Michelle "Nikki" Moore, all of Tiptonville; two sons, Michael Wade Moore I and wife, Charlotte, and Buddy Wade Moore II, all of Tiptonville; a brother, Gene Douglas "Mickey" Moore of Tiptonville; his mother-in-law, Sammie Sharp of Tiptonville; six grandchildren, Dawana Moore Page, Michael Wade "Mikey" Moore II, Bracy Lane McCoy, Jonathon Brady Smith, B.J. Morgan and Shea Morgan Work; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Moore Sprague, and a brother, Billy Harold Moore.

Pallbearers will be Elaine Nettles, Terry Petty, Eldon Tittle, Ronnie Hays, Sammy Parker and Richard Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Roberts, James Deason, Macie Roberson, Jimmy Whitby, Sonya Wyatt, Terry Jamison Jr., Wade Myers and members of the Tiptonville Board of Aldermen.
