Robert Carroll, 84, of Finley, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Oakwood Community Living Center.
He was a retired employee of the Dyer County Highway Department and was a Baptist.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Carroll of Finley; four daughters, Mary Alice Walker of Dyersburg, Ann Smith of Richwoods, Vickie Bradley of Newbern and Barbara Neugass of Palm Springs, Calif.; two sons Robert Daniel Carroll and James Allen Carroll, both of Richwoods; a sister, Novelene Carroll of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Edward Carroll; his parents, Jim and Johnnie Carroll; three sisters; and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Carlton Carroll, Billy Carroll, Chuck Smith, Chad Smith, Michael Hicks and Craig Hicks.
Mary Williams Lowery Guyton Grimes, 95, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ with Elder Charles B. Middlebrooks officiating. Burial will be in Old Chapel Cemetery in Halls. Thompson's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy R. Middlebrooks King of Dyersburg, Mary R. Holder Jones of Jonesburg, Ga., and Evelyn V. Haymon of Gary, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and 72 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Beatrice Haynes, 89, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of Finley Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Rosemond Adkerson of St. Charles, Mo., and Gail Grow of Durand, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Enos Haynes; her parents, Lawrence and Rosie Smithwick; a sister, Vivian Joiner; and a brother, Edmond Smithwick.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Martha Middlebrooks King, 91, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at her residence.
She was a former employee at Heckethorn Manufacturing Co.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Arije officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Dyersburg. Thompson's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Survivors include four daughters, Bobby Terry and Jackie Williams, both of Dyersburg, Audrey King of Memphis and Betty Aikens of Murfreesboro; three sons, Robert "Jack" King and James King, both of Dyersburg, and Wallace King of St. Louis, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Bobbie Wilson, 74, of Dyersburg, formerly of Gleason, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lenox Baptist Church.
Graveside services were Wednesday at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gleason with the Rev. Rudy Ring officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, David Faulkner of Ridgely; a brother, Joe W. Morgan of Murfreesboro; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Wilson; and her parents, Jay W. and Mignon Morgan.
Mary Katherine Wofford, 84, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 at her residence.
She was a retired auditor for the Internal Revenue Service, a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Keenagers, worked at the Veterans Administration in Memphis and lived in Memphis and Nashville for years.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors at noon Friday at Curry Funeral Home.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Ivey Baker of Dyersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Wofford; and her parents, Murry William and Ava Hughes Ivey.
