Imogene Butcher, 82, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a member of Parr Avenue Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Scott Owen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Chester Butcher; a daughter, Judy Meeks and husband, Bud, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Ron Butcher and wife, Shirley, and Tommy Butcher and wife, Judy, all of Dyersburg; four sisters, Dot Hollomon and Frances Slaughter, both of Dyersburg, Patty Jefferies of Memphis and Betty Swims of Jackson; two brothers, Billy Lowery of Dyersburg and Ted Lowery of Jackson; five grandchildren, Katie Richardson, Nick Butcher, Brad Butcher, Jason Meeks and Ashlee Butcher; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lucy Kate Lowery; and a brother, James Lowery.

Pallbearers will be David Haddock, Gerald Swims, Hollis Jefferies, Ricky Lowery, Carl Schultz and Danny Lowery.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Parr Avenue Church of Christ.


Ora Lee Hendrex, 81, of Camden, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at Camden Healthcare & Rehab.

She was a retired seamstress for Rolane Manufacturing and H.I.S. Manufacturing and was a Baptist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Tiptonville chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Haynes Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include eight daughters, Carolyn Spurrier, Helen Tharp and Sharon Serimian, all of Visalia, Calif., Deborah Smith of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Karen Allen of Silva, Mo., Virginia Hopper of Tiptonville, Paula Sanders of Dyersburg and Alice Douglas of Camden; a son, John W. Woolard of Visalia, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Tate of Obion; a stepson, Clay Bennett of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Louise Malady of Millington; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom Tharp and Condie Hendrex; her parents, Gilley and Mamie Griggs Mayfield; six sisters, Hazel Badger, Barbara Dean, Mary McClain, Opal Dunlap, Helen Gann and Evelyn Zimmerman; and a brother, J.G. Mayfield.

Pallbearers will be Roger Moore, Ronnie Moore, Robert McClain, Timmy Dean, Eddie Dean and Steve Jones.


Doris Parmenter Karlgaard, 66, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

She was a raw-material recipe coordinator for Polyone and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg with Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors at 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Curry Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Karlgaard of Dyersburg; a son, Tracy Allen Voss and wife, Jessica, of Oakland; two stepdaughters, Susan Sartain and Shari Garrett, both of Lakeland, Fla.; her mother, Lucille Parmenter of Dyersburg; three sisters, Shirley F. Gibson and Patsye Jones, both of Dyersburg and Dianna Flatt of Newbern; a brother, Billy E. Parmenter of Dyersburg; and four grandchildren, Gavin Allen Voss, Sonja Sartain, Annie Garrett and Matthew Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Parmenter; and a sister, Linda J. Foster.

Pallbearers will be Roy Campbell, John Gardner, John T. Yarbro, J.D. Stephens, Lowell Beck and Ben Ragan.

Mary Elizabeth Tribone Staymate, 79, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was a retired medical secretary-transcriptionist, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and attended Harvest Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathe Ozment and the Rev. Scott Sewell officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorials Gardens.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, William A. Staymate and wife, Amanda, of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Aaron Staymate, Stephanie Staymate, Candace Williams and Cody Williams; and a niece, Karen Trybone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Garland Staymate; her parents, Joseph and Margaret Hartman Trybone; two sisters, Alberta Bishop and Margaret Pinitsch; and three brothers, the Rev. Joseph Trybone, James Trybone and Claude Hilliard.

Pallbearers will be Chad Cunningham, Dave Parris, Andy Wright, Tim Pope, Buster Gibson and Tommy Kelley.
