Hettie M. Lankford Calahan Ferrell, 80, of Manchester, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 at her residence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Methodist Church in Manchester.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Funeral Home with Bro. Preston Brown and Bro. Thomas Watkins officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
Survivors include her husband, David Ferrell of Manchester; four daughters, Paulette Calahan Craddock and husband, Harry, of Woodbury, Jackie Calahan Houk and husband, George, of Murfreesboro, Trudy Calahan Lutrell and husband, Mark, of Dyersburg and Sharon Sutherland and husband, Gordan, of Estill Springs; two sons, Mike Calahan and wife, Sara, of Shelbyville and David Ferrell Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Lynchburg; a sister, Hattie Lankford Rich of Robinson, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Calahan; a son, Ricky Calahan, her parents, Herman J. and Zula Dennis Lankford; two sisters, Beatrice Lentz and Nellie Sanders; and three brothers, H.L. Lankford, Bernice Lankford and Charlie Lankford.
James Alvin Jenkins, 84, of Lexington, formerly of Dyersburg, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009.
He was a retired broker for Raymond James and a financial consultant in West Palm Beach, Fla., an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a Mason.
Services were held Sunday at Reed's Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Burrough officiating. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene S. Jenkins of Lexington; two daughters, Susan Rhea Stantan of Cedartown, Ga. and Joan C. Schrg of Marietta, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Kim Parker of Lexington; a stepson, Kenith Mathis of Lexington; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Dickson, Tom Krejci, Ernie Divian, Scott Wadley, Scotty Parker, James H. McClure and Robert Eads.
